Photo Retouching
No matter what changes you would like to see done to a photograph, it can probably be done in Photoshop. Think back to the last time you browsed through your photo album. You may have seen numerous photos that were "almost" the perfect picture. "If only the lighting had been better," or "that light pole sure ruined this picture," or even "if only my ex-husband wasn't in the photo!"
Almost everyone has heard of Photoshop, but many don't realize just what a powerful program it is. Most "issues" in an image can be easily fixed, and are neither time-consuming nor expensive to correct.
This image of a Division of Marines was taken in 1965. It was rather warped, as it had been in the clients basement rolled up into a cylinder for many years. The photo was about 22 inches wide, so it was scanned it in two pieces. It needed to be woven back into one image and restored to remove the water damage. The warping made it extremely difficult to weave together, but the client, upon seeing the finished photo restoration, was amazed as he was unable to find the seam. The water damage was repaired & he was able to arrive at his battalion reunion with a poster that looked band new. (it was!)
This image was for the cover of a brochure for an apartment building near the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. It was a north-facing building with quite a few trees surrounding it, so the original image needed to be brightened up. Photoshop brought out the foliage and improved the overall appearance.
Photoshop is a great tool to enhance the appearance of facial features & remove blemishes, correct skin tone, brighten teeth, etc.
