Good design requires professional software. I use and recommend Adobe software for professional designers. There are less expensive software programs available, such as Microsoft Publisher and Corel Draw, but there are less powerful and not as well supported by commercial printing companies.

Adobe Illustrator is a vector-based computer drawing tool which is used to create logos and other illustrations which need to be scalable to any size without loss of quality. The artwork is not only crisp, but the usually file sizes are much smaller in vector format than a comparable raster art file.

Adobe Photoshop is the current and primary market leader for commercial bitmap and image manipulation software, and is the flagship product of Adobe Systems. It is the industry standard for graphics professionals.

Adobe InDesign is fast becoming the tool of choice for professional graphic designer. It is a powerful page layout program, differing from Illustrator and Photoshop which cannot produce multiple-page documents.

Adobe Acrobat Professional Adobe PDF Portable Document Format documents have become the format of choice where both document security & collaboration are required. Acrobat Professional also accommodates embedded hypertext, audio and video.

Adobe Dreamweaver is the industry's leading web authoring tool. Dreamweaver is ideal for web designers, web developers, and visual designers. Originally created by Macromedia, it is now developed by Adobe Systems, which acquired Macromedia in 2005.

Adobe Flash is popular method for adding animation to web pages. Flash is commonly used to create animation, advertisements, and various web page components, to integrate video into web pages, and more recently, to develop rich Internet applications.

Adobe Fireworks to create and optimize reducing the file size so images will load more quickly on websites graphics and rapidly prototype websites. It is designed to integrate easily with Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash.

For professional design software, I use Adobe products. They are the worldwide industry standard for graphic designers and webmasters.
