Monitor Color, Color Perception & Ink Colors
Anyone interested in graphic design should learn the fundamental concepts of color in order to obtain accurate results. Color can be especially critical in the printing industry. Many talented designers make costly mistakes due to a lack of understanding of some basic concepts concerning color, from the accuracy of their computer monitor and desktop printer to the different types of ink colors used in the various types of printing processes. Three categories of color are covered here:
- Monitor Calibration - unless your monitor has been calibrated for color accuracy, you can't really trust the images that it displays as being true to reality. Making color adjustments to an image can do more harm than good.
